Coming from a Filipino background, "Nanci with an i" is more than just a way to clarify my name, it’s a connection to my heritage. My name comes from my dads, "Venancio", and while people often spell it with a "Y," keeping the "I" helps me stay rooted in my culture.
I’m a student at UC Berkeley majoring in Cognitive Science and pursuing the Certificate of Design. I believe that effective design starts with a deep understanding of people. Growing up, I saw firsthand how limited accessibility and resources impact a community. This fueled my passion for creating inclusive experiences.
Outside of work and studies, you’ll find me with boba in hand, enjoying a nice view, learning to cook Filipino dishes, or trying to attract a campus squirrel.

★ Knowledge is the only thing that can’t be stolen
Material gains are fleeting, but knowledge is lasting. My ambition is to learn as much as I can, because skills and understanding are tools I can wield to grow, create, and make an impact.
★ To be seen is to be loved
It’s easy for people to feel small. I strive to listen to understand, both in personal relationships and through the experiences I design. By creating spaces where people feel acknowledged and valued, I aim to foster connection, trust, and lasting impact.
★ People have different capacities
I strive to approach others with understanding and patience, recognizing that what may seem “easy” to one person might be challenging for another. I am committed to creating products that work for a diverse range of people, regardless of their background or ability.
